The Zits! How to Handle a Pimple

It doesn’t matter if you’re attending a birthday party, a wedding, or even going on a date — you need and want to have clear skin during the big day. The problem is, however, you have no idea when a breakout is coming. In fact, it might be on that one fateful day that you are planning on looking fab and all.

Fortunately, there are tons of products in the market that can help you get rid of a pimple ASAP. This does not guarantee clear skin, as our bodies react to different products differently. Getting a facial treatment in Manila is always worth a try, though. Besides, you have nothing to lose!

Grab an Ice Bag

If you feel a sore bump on your face that seems to be a bit painful and red, then chances are it’s going to form into a full-grown pimple later on. The first thing to do is to grab an ice bag and put it over the affected area.

Cold temperatures can help reduce the first signs of inflammation, especially the ones that are associated with acne. It constricts the blood vessels around it, preventing the pimple from forming — at least for a couple of hours or days.

Spot Treatment

This might or might not be effective, but it’s still worth a try. Ask your dermatologist what type of spot treatment product you can use to make your acne or pimple go away. They might recommend a topical solution if you specifically say that you want to try spot treatment, but they can also recommend oral medicines if they think this would be best for you.

Oral treatment may not take effect immediately, so you might still want to try that spot treatment if you want to get rid of the pimple ASAP.

Get a Facial

Getting a facial will definitely help clear your skin, but it should be done at least a day or two before a huge event since getting one may result in extreme redness of the face. You can ask the facial technician or the dermatologist not to prick your existing pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, or other blemishes, as pricking will definitely result in temporary inflammation and/or redness.

Make sure to choose a trustworthy dermatology clinic so you would not have to worry about worsening your skin’s condition.

Use a Concealer and Corrector

If your pimple still pops out even after doing everything you can to make it disappear, then it’s time to go for the last resort: using makeup to conceal the bump and the redness. You can opt for a green corrector before putting any type of makeup on your face, as green counteracts the redness.

Once you are done with the corrector, you can either use a heavy coverage foundation or concealer over the affected area to conceal it perfectly. Make sure not to cake it on, though, as doing so will only accentuate the blemishes.

The best way to prevent pimples and breakouts is to take good care of your skin. Make sure to take your makeup off before going to bed, and wash your face twice a day to get rid of excess oil and dirt on your face.
